Internet body throws open domain names

Good.food, learnto.salsa, glossy.lipstick, apple, orange, toyota – people and companies will be able to set up a website with almost any address by the end of next year if they have a legitimate claim to the domain name and can pay a hefty fee.

In what is being described as a game-changing development in the cyberworld, the global body that oversees the internet has approved the creation of website addresses ending in corporate names.

Introducing the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 hitting stores soon

June 21, 2011 in Technology

Coming soon to the Samsung range is the new GALAXY Tab 10.1 tablet. With a preview unit unveiled back in April at CTIA, it succeeds the limited edition GALAXY Tab 10.1v with a “tweak” to the overall form factor.

As a result the new Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 represents one of the world’s thinnest tablets at only 8.6mm and weighing only 595 grams making it a truly portable mobile device.

With the latest Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) operating system made specifically for tablets, and powered by a grunty 1.0GHz Dual Core application processor, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 delivers users a powerful, engaging and quick tablet experience.

The GALAXY Tab 10.1 also comes with the latest Touchwiz interface (that also features on the recently released Samsung GALAXY S II). Samsung’s TouchWiz user experience allows users to customise the display with a variety of content on the home screen including digital pictures, favourite web sites and social network feeds. ‘Well, we’ve proved them wrong.’

Forty years on, the Australian invention has helped 200,000 people in 100 countries to hear and Australian researchers are now looking at ways to apply medical bionics to eye and brain function.
